FolkSinger-Songwriter

The Midwest Made summer concert series puts the spotlight on regional talent in a diverse array of genres. Each Wednesday night, you'll want to find yourself at The Acorn for shows that will not disappoint!

About the Artists:

Kaitlin Rose was chosen as one of the Top 10 Bands to Watch and Listen To in the annual music issue of Revue Magazine, by Eric Mitts…saying, "A storyteller in the purest sense of the term, Rose bares her buoyant soul with songs of personal struggle and strife, set aloft by her powerful voice. A gem and fixture in Kalamazoo's music community..."

Kaitlin has been playing guitar and writing songs since the summer of 2001 after finding her mom's Alvarez in the hallway closet. By the end of the day she taught herself the theme song to The Godfather, which made her Italian grandmother very proud. Since then, Kaitlin has recorded four full length solo-albums and one with her band in 2019.

Emma HamelSinger-songwriter Emma Hamel spent many of her high school years scrawling lyrics in class and singing in her bedroom before she began performing her original music all around the Midwest.

Emma’s music pairs poetic lyrics with haunting vocals and stripped-down arrangements that let the story take center stage. Her deeply heartfelt songs are filled with the hopes, insecurities, and uncertainties that accompany the transition from youth to adulthood.

Emma has been featured on numerous radio and TV programs and was the 2018 winner of The Acorn Singer-Songwriter Competition.
